Box Office India Trade Network

SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ picked up on the day to collect around 10.50-10.75 crore nett on the first day which is a collection on the lower side but much higher than it looked in the morning. The film saw solid improvement in collections in certain circuits while others improved at a slower pace.

The film was driven by business in places like UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, MP and Gujarat with many centres in these areas seeing the best collections of 2022 for original Hindi content. It is basically behind KGF - CHAPTER 2 and RRR. The subdued initial was mainly because as the film offered little for that initial mass and youth audience as the commercial elements not really there and also the music was not a Hit.

The film will improve further today but it is crucial for the multiplexes of the metros to show good growth as they have had a weak first day comparatively to other pockets. The film is the second most expensive film of Akshay Kumar after SOORYAVANSHI and his second film to have a budget of 200 crore apprx with only SOORYAVANSHI being higher.

There were a couple of other films releases this week from the South and the bilingual MAJOR collected around 1 crore nett while the dubbed VIKRAM - HITLIST was in the 25 lakh nett range. The last named though has done very good business in Tamil Nadu with an expected collection in the range of 14 crore nett.
