Sambhavna Seth recently lashed out at trolls, who body-shamed her for gaining weight and also commented about her not having a child after six years of marriage. The actress and her husband Avinash Dwivedi have gone through four IVF cycles, but with no success.

When BT reached out to Sambhavna, she said, “For the past few years, trolls have been telling me how it is high time that I became a mother to a child and not just my four pets. So, finally, I decided to speak about my IVF journey. For the past five years, we have been trying to have a baby. Since I was not very young when I got married, I knew there would be issues in getting pregnant. My husband and I have gone through four unsuccessful IVF cycles. Women, who go through IVF, are given injections twice a day and the body goes through tremendous hormonal changes. One also tends to put on weight. It is a vicious cycle — you gain weight when the treatment begins and then you have to constantly exercise and reduce the excess weight.”

Sambhavna added, “The journey has been anything, but easy. It affects you mentally as well because you want to become a mother and when things don’t work out, you are disheartened. We are currently on our fifth IVF cycle and hope to continue till the doctor advises us to go for it. If it does not work out, we will either opt for surrogacy or adopt a child.”

Talking about her desire to become a mother, Sambhavna said, “I lost my father last year and my mother has been unwell for a long time. After my father passed away, there has been a deep void in my life and I felt that having a child would help me cope with my grief. I’ve always wanted to have children — I have a lot of love in me and I’m already a pet parent to four dogs.”

She added, “The reason I decided to address the trolls and talk about my IVF journey is because society is not kind to you when you don’t become a parent within a few years of your marriage. People should know that when a woman is struggling to have a baby, they should not make things more difficult for her.”

Sambhavna, who was last seen in the TV show Razia Sultan, tied the knot with actor-writer Avinash Dwivedi in 2016. Talking about their bond, she said, “Avinash has been a very supportive husband. I feel blessed to have him in my life. The important thing is that we have found happiness in each other. It does not matter if he is almost a decade younger than me. At the end of the day, we are both on the same page about becoming parents and hopefully, our prayers will be answered soon.”
