ANEK fell flat on Saturday as the film failed to grow much from a very low Saturday. The film could only collect 2 crore nett on day two after collecting 1.75 crore nett on Saturday. The film was targeted at the urban centres which are best on Saturday but no one has come for this.
The two day numbers are 3.75 crore nett and the failure to do much on Saturday means the writing is on the wall if it was not there on day one. Actually the writing was on the wall when you start this sort of content and then base it in the North East which will ensure even less takers. It may have worked better if made Assamese rather than Hindi.
The two day collections of ANEK are as follows.
Friday - 1,75,00,000
Saturday - 2,00,00,000
TOTAL - 3,75,00,000
TOP GUN: MAVERICK had a decent Saturday as it collected around the 4.25 crore nett mark. The collections are still on the lower side but the film saw a good jump of 70% which is probably the highest a major release has seen on Saturday post the pandemic if we take out THE KASHMIR FILES.
The jump has come despite a Thursday release and maybe it can hold on a Monday due to this Saturday result. Or maybe its just that urban weekend film which does better on the weekends. The Sunday jump is unlikely to be huge which is the norm for Hollywood in India.
The collections of TOP GUN: MAVERICK in India till date are as follows.
Wednesday - 25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 9,00,00,000 apprx
