ATTACK could not do much at the box office as it collected 10 crore nett apprx over the first weekend. The film opened low on day one and remained pretty much flat over the weekend as these sort of films don't really have much of an audience in India. It was an action film with a video game feel.
The urban youth audience which will be the target audience does not really watch Hindi action films barring an exception here or there. Even a far bigger RRR (Hindi) or SOORYAVANSHI for that matter are comparatively less in Mumbai city and Delhi city compared to other parts of the country. Its the Hindi belts which are a must for action films and for this type of film, they are not going to come. This is also why there is hardly any growth on Sunday as the audience in mass circuits is not interested.
Also post the pandemic when there is little interest in a film, the box office is hitting those films harder than the time before the pandemic. The 25-30% increase in average ticket rates could be a reason for this but these rates are working in the favour of the bigger films like SOORYAVANSHI, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and RRR; so the high prices are here to stay.
The first weekend business of ATTACK is as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 10,00,00,000 apprx
