ATTACK grossed a poor 13.75 crore nett in its first week as collections were dull over the weekend and came down further over the weekdays. The opening day itself was the killer as an action film has to open much better to stand any chance at the box office.

ATTACK will not see much business coming from here even though there is not much competition and will probably finish around the 15 crore nett mark unless the second Friday somehow holds better.

THE KASHMIR FILES had another good week as it collected 9.75 crore nett in week four. It is 65% from week three but its still a solid collection for week four. The total collections of the film now stands 243 crore nett and it should go close to 250 crore nett.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,07,68,00,000
Third Week  - 29,59,00,000
Fourth Week - 9,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,43,16,00,000 apprx

The collections came down heavily for ATTACK on Monday as it collected in the 1-1.25 crore nett which was pretty much on the cards. The 65% drop is much higher than normal but all films have fallen more than normal this Monday.

The film has had a very poor fate at the box office with the only plus being that at least it has managed to collect better than MORBIUS which had a better advance and opened better in the morning but these things dont really matter much when results are so bad.

The film could have gone to OTT and the makers could have claimed love and appreciation for a different type of action film like everybody does for their flop films which run scared of the box office. Here they decided theatrical which is good for exhibition even though the film has not done well.

The first four day business of ATTACK is as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,15,00,000 apprx (4 days)

Attack collects 10 cr in 3 days

ATTACK could not do much at the box office as it collected 10 crore nett apprx over the first weekend. The film opened low on day one and remained pretty much flat over the weekend as these sort of films don't really have much of an audience in India. It was an action film with a video game feel.

The urban youth audience which will be the target audience does not really watch Hindi action films barring an exception here or there. Even a far bigger RRR (Hindi) or SOORYAVANSHI for that matter are comparatively less in Mumbai city and Delhi city compared to other parts of the country. Its the Hindi belts which are a must for action films and for this type of film, they are not going to come. This is also why there is hardly any growth on Sunday as the audience in mass circuits is not interested.

Also post the pandemic when there is little interest in a film, the box office is hitting those films harder than the time before the pandemic. The 25-30% increase in average ticket rates could be a reason for this but these rates are working in the favour of the bigger films like SOORYAVANSHI, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and RRR; so the high prices are here to stay.

The first weekend business of ATTACK is as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 10,00,00,000 apprx

RRR (Hindi) continues to storm the box office as it collected around 17 crore nett on its second Saturday to take its total around 162 crore nett. The jump was around 30% on the second Saturday which is very good for a film which is doing huge numbers in mass pockets.

The growth could have been better but it was the start of Ramazan and so, collections in Muslim centres did not go up and these were doing fantastic business. The way the film is going it is possible that it will be the highest grossing film ever in some circuits after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

The business on Sunday should also show very good growth and and the second weekend should cross the 50 crore nett mark which very few films have managed to do before. The weekdays of the second week is when THE KASHMIR FILES started seeing drops. But as this is a mass film with wider appeal, hopefully this will hold up better.

ATTACK had business in the same range as day one with 3-3.25 crore nett coming and will have a two day total of 6.25 crore nett apprx. The numbers are low across the board as both metros and mass circuits do dull business.

Attack collects 3 cr on Day 1; Morbius collects 1.50 cr

ATTACK had a poor first day of 3-3.25 crore nett with dull business all over. This is not too surprising as this type of action will struggle with the mass audiences and the urban audiences don't drive action films. The video game look to the film was a killer.

Its an uphill task from here as action films struggle for growth on day two and here you don't just need growth but phenomenal growth which is unlikely. As its mainly for multiplexes it may go up a little on Saturday but that's about it.

The film managed to easily do better than MORBIUS which had better occupancy in the morning but could not move and collected less than 1.50 crore nett.
