Mumbai: Khar police registered an FIR against a man for allegedly duping Bollywood actor Rimi Sen (Subhamitra) of Rs 4.40 crore. Ronak Jatin allegedly duped Sen after she was offered high returns if she invested in his new company that dealt in LED lights.

Sen, who owns Mamlo Film Production house in Khar (W), complained that she met Jatin in 2019 at a gym where “he came with the offer after we became friends. He promised a 40% profit on the due date if I invest in his company,” she told police.

Police said the actor, who resides in Andheri (W), filed the case after the suspect ignored her calls when she started asking for the money. “Sen realised that she was duped when she verified details and learned that Jatin never started any company,” said the police. Sen appeared in Baghban, Dhoom, Garam Masala, Kyon Ki, Phir Hera Pheri, and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006). She also participated in a reality TV show.

In her written complaint, Sen mentioned that she met the accused, Ronak Jatin, goregon resident at a gym in Andheri three years ago, and the two became friends over months.

Sen informed the police that Jatin claimed to be a businessman and had opened a new company of LED lights. He then offered Sen to invest in the company for a return of 40 per cent. After she decided to invest the money, they drafted an agreement.
