Not wanting to lose any chance of staying in public eye even as their term as corporators has ended, a former corporator of BJP from Juhu booked an entire show of the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ for the residents of Nehru Nagar, Patelwadi and Fatherwadi in her ward in Juhu to be watched free of cost.

Renu Hansraj, who was elected for the first time in 2017, is in the race to contest once again this time. The locals were taken for a 10 am show on Thursday where Hansraj herself also watched the movie for the first time with the slum residents.

The movie is already being actively pushed by many of the BJP-ruled states with some declaring the film tax-free. On the other hand the opposition has called the film one-sided. The BJP’s former alliance partner in the BMC — Shiv Sena Sena — has even questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is the ‘pracharak’ of the movie.

Hansraj said, “When I called up Shyam Shroff of Shringar Films requesting 300 tickets for a single movie show at a cinema house in Santacruz (W), he immediately sponsored the same.”
