The Telugu release BHEEMLA NAYAK did well in Nizam/Andhra in week one as it collected around 89 crore nett but there were falls over the weekdays. It still needs another 25-30 crore to cover in Nizam/Andhra which looks difficult. Like PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01, the losses will come in the Andhra side due to ticket pricing issues. The first week business of the film is very similar to PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 in Nizam/Andhra (not counting Marathawada and only the Telugu market).
BHEEMLA NAYAK added around 11.5-12 crore nett in the rest of India to take its first week total to over 100 crore nett. There were expectations of a Hindi release today but it was going to be difficult and there has been no release today.
It has taken just two releases with disastrous results to change the scenario for south dubbed films as exhibitors start to doubt the regular dubbed films. Generally, there will be other excuses given for the delay but its mainly about there being a point to release and getting a good release. The film being already released in Andhra makes it even tougher..
This is more good news for the Hindi film industry as with such a back log films you don't need these type of films holding up single screens in pockets and the air has gone out of this bandwagon pretty quickly. No doubt there will be an RRR and KGF from the South but these have some demand though even here maybe not as much as the expected first day numbers going around.
As far as Andhra goes, BHEEMLA NAYAK looks again a huge show of raw box office power by Pawan Kalyan with the film being not being upto the mark but better than his last few releases.
