The Telugu release BHEEMLA NAYAK did well in Nizam/Andhra in week one as it collected around 89 crore nett but there were falls over the weekdays. It still needs another 25-30 crore to cover in Nizam/Andhra which looks difficult. Like PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01, the losses will come in the Andhra side due to ticket pricing issues. The first week business of the film is very similar to PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 in Nizam/Andhra (not counting Marathawada and only the Telugu market).
BHEEMLA NAYAK added around 11.5-12 crore nett in the rest of India to take its first week total to over 100 crore nett. There were expectations of a Hindi release today but it was going to be difficult and there has been no release today.
It has taken just two releases with disastrous results to change the scenario for south dubbed films as exhibitors start to doubt the regular dubbed films. Generally, there will be other excuses given for the delay but its mainly about there being a point to release and getting a good release. The film being already released in Andhra makes it even tougher..
This is more good news for the Hindi film industry as with such a back log films you don't need these type of films holding up single screens in pockets and the air has gone out of this bandwagon pretty quickly. No doubt there will be an RRR and KGF from the South but these have some demand though even here maybe not as much as the expected first day numbers going around.
As far as Andhra goes, BHEEMLA NAYAK looks again a huge show of raw box office power by Pawan Kalyan with the film being not being upto the mark but better than his last few releases.
Bheemla Nayak collects 88 cr in 4 days; Valimai 73 cr; Pawankhind collects 18.25 cr in 11 days

The Marathi film PAWANKHIND is on an extraordinary run as it grossed 1.50 crore nett apprx on its second Monday which is more than its second Friday which did 1 crore nett. The collections are similar to the second Saturday and the film has now grossed 18.25 crore nett in eleven days. The film grossed 12 crore nett in week one and the second week could be around 10 crore nett, if not more, which is phenomenal.
The Telugu film BHEEMLA NAYAK was steady on Monday with business that could hit double digits across India. The film grossed 78 crore nett over the three day weekend and should be around 88 crore nett after four days. The film is doing better business than PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 as far as the business from the home circuit Nizam/Andhra is concerned and is looking to be the best performer in this circuit post the pandemic.
The Tamil film VALIMAI has seen a drop in business and is likely to be in the 4-5 crore nett range on Monday. The film had collected 73 crore nett over its first four days across India and now the 100 crore nett mark looks like a task. The film had done well over the weekend but the the film seems about star power with the content not being there. The business in Tamil Nadu probably stands at around 66 crore nett after five days.
Valimai collects 30 cr on Day 1; Bheemla Nayak has an earth-shattering opening

The Tamil film VALIMAI set an all time record by registering the highest opening ever in the state of Tamil Nadu as it beat the figures of the November Diwali release ANNAATTHE by around a little more than 1 crore nett. VALIMAI collected around 25 crore nett apprx in Tamil Nadu. It grossed another 5 crore nett in the rest of India for an all India total of 30 crore nett.
The Hindi version VALIMAI - THE POWER was like a paid preview release yesterday and there were limited collections. Not much can is expected at the box office and the only comparison is another Tamil film MASTER which released early last year and collected around 40 lakhs nett in Hindi on day one with disaster results like 3 lakhs from 100 plus screens in West Bengal. There were no other releases at the time and so, the film managed to get a good release.
VALIMAI is going to be about Tamil Nadu and although the opening day record has come the reports are not encouraging and there is a big drop in collections today (day 2). It was seen on Diwali that ANNAATTHE fizzled out after a huge start. That was on a national holiday; so, the hope here is that the collections have come without a national holiday so they will hold up better.
The apprx top opening days in Tamil Nadu are as follows.
1. Valimai (2022) - 25 cr
2. Annatthe (2021) - 24 cr
3. Sarkar (2018) - 23 cr
4. Bigil (2019)- 20 cr
5. Kabali (2016) - 19.5 cr
6. Master (2021) - 19.5 cr (50% occupancy rule but many places screened with 100% occupancy)
The Telugu film BHEEMLA NAYAK has also seen a earth shattering opening and the Nizam side of Nizam/Andhra should beat the numbers of PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01. The Andhra side has issues with ticket pricing as the local government goes strict with the film as the hero Pawan Kalyan stood up against the state government. Despite the huge start it remains to be seen how it is reflected in the final numbers.
The opening of this film and the others before proves that Pawan Kalyan is the biggest star seen in South India post the heady days of Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi. However, the problem is that after these insane starts, the holds tend to be weak as the films itself are totally star driven and content is probably not so strong. Still the raw star power of this guy cant be denied as it remains intact even after a handful of films not sustaining well at the box office. It remains to be seen if BHEEMLA NAYAK is different and holds after the initial but again the reports are mixed.
