Actor Swwapnil Joshi is back on the TV screens after a gap of around four years. Although he will be seen in a Marathi TV show, he has no qualms about the small screen. Instead, Joshi believes Marathi makers are delivering better content than Hindi makers.

“Marathi TV shows are very interesting. Whether it is on the digital front or big screen, Marathi content tells more real stories. Marathi daily soaps are less clichéd than Hindi TV shows. The storytelling is better and more relatable, as they are closer to reality than Hindi TV shows. (So) it’s more fun to do them,” Joshi elaborates.

The actor started his career at the age of nine with Ramanand Sagar’s show Uttar Ramayana. Working round the clock for a TV show does bring back good old memories to him.

Currently, he is shooting for his Marathi daily in Pune, and while it has been “extremely hectic”, the 44-year-old has no complaints.

“I am extremely proud of the fact that I am a product of TV,” says the actor, adding, “No matter how many different things I do, how many web shows I do and how successful they turn out to be, deep down, I will always be indebted to the fact that I am who I am primarily because of TV; all the Hindi and Marathi TV shows that I did. I think television has been the biggest contributor towards my career. And I am extremely proud and passionate about it.”
