Veteran actor and filmmaker Amol Palekar has been admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune due to a prolonged illness. The actor’s wife, Sandhya Gokhale, confirmed the reports to ABP Live.

“There is nothing to worry about Amol Palekar’s health. He is recovering and his condition is better than before,” she said. Talking about the 77-year-old’s illness and health, Gokhale informed, “This is an old illness. Due to excessive smoking, he was admitted to the hospital 10 years ago as well. But his condition is fine.”

The legendary actor is known for his fine work in projects such as Rajnigandha (1974), Chhoti Si Baat (1976), Chitchor (1976), Gol Maal (1979) and Shriman Shrimati (1982). Palekar was last seen in an OTT film, 200 Halla Ho (2021).
