There were three huge releases in December 2021 and after around ten weeks all of them have practically consumed their runs. The three films have benefitted from open runs as films generally stopped releasing at the end of December due to restrictions in practically all states across the country.

PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 has emerged the best performer as it has crossed the 275 crore nett mark and SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME was next best with 215 crore nett plus. '83 was a disaster with a little over 100 crore nett. All these three films were released in many languages across the country and so its a like for like comparison. 

The box office in India is split into five zones (North, East, South, West and Central). North is Delhi/UP and East Punjab and SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME was the leader here. East is West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha and again SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME leads. South is Nizam/Andhra, Mysore, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and here as expected PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 was easily the best and that was expected. West is Mumbai/Gujarat and here SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME just edged out the Allu Arjun-starrer but its a huge achievement by PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 to be so close to the Tom Holland-starrer. 

Central is CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan and here PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 came out on to due to the insane business in CP Berar.
