Actor Rasika Dugal had to hit the pause button on her shooting schedule in Ooty because of the rising Coronavirus cases. Dugal shares that she is now spending every day realigning everything in her work schedule, but the continued uncertainty is adding to her woes.
“It’s funny right now because I spend a significant amount of time on the phone with my manager every day, realigning dates. And then we find out the next day that we have to start from scratch [due to changing circumstances as a result of Covid-19 cases],” shares the actor, who was supposed go to Palampur for another shoot, which also got pushed.
“Living and working in this uncertainty is difficult,” rues the Lootcase (2020) actor, adding, “It is something that all of us deal with every day to varying degrees. It is all very unsettling.”
Dugal goes on, “Everybody is trying to cope, trying to figure out what the best and most responsible thing to do is. I hope things settle down soon, but it is a hope that we have had for the past two years now.”
The actor, who has made a name for herself with OTT projects such as Mirzapur and Out Of Love, further notes that “the hesitation to go out to work is there” as “you are always wondering if everybody’s health has been accounted for or not”.
She continues, “Also, it is never clear...You never know whether you are unnecessarily stopping work, or whether you’ve stretched yourself too much and it has become unsafe. Unfortunately, it is not clear to anybody.”
On a personal note, the actor turns 37 today, and she always aspires to spend her birthday working. Dugal says, “We shoot through a lot of things, and birthdays are no reason to take a holiday from filming. So mostly, it’s always been a working birthday for me. I had an off on my birthday last year, and I liked it that way, too.”
