TADAP scored well at the box office on day one with collections in the 4 crore nett range. The film had no face value and so these are good numbers considering what films like SATYTAMEVA JAYATE 2 and ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH did as they had more face value and wider releases. In terms of day one occupancy, then TADAP is second only to SOORYAVANSHI this year.

TADAP is from Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner which also gave HEROPANTI in 2014 and that was the last time a film with a new lead film opened well before TADAP. Since then films with new leads have struggled to get over the 1 crore nett mark with a new face be it with industry kids or outsiders. HEROPANTI had Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon who both went on to become stars.

It remains to be seen what happens with the leads of TADAP but the start is there and now its about the appreciation for them and the film from the public but that will only be known with time. Sunday will be crucial and then its about where the film goes after the weekend. The business of TADAP on day one is generally good in all circuits as the youth crowd as come especially outside the metros.

The best circuit is probably Delhi/UP which will be the second highest opening day of the year after SOORYAVANSHI as it collects a lakh or two more than ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH. The collections in Delhi NCR were decent but in UP it has collected well from places like Agra, Gorakhpur, Barelly etc.
