Tadap collects 23.95 cr in 11 days; Antim - The Final Truth collects 37.21 cr in 18 days

TADAP is heading for a second week total of 5.25 crore nett as it has collected almost 4 crore nett in after the weekend and Monday of week two. There is a drop in collections from the first week and it will be down around 75% from the first week. Overall its a fair performance for a newcomer film and that is thanks to some decent collections in the Hindi belt initially but the film itself could not sustain at the box office.

ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH is also seeing falling collections after the first week and is looking at a third week of a little over two crore nett. The collections of the film are 37.25 crore nett after the 21 days and it will add around 1 crore nett plus from here for a final total in the 38.50 crore nett range. The film is a HIT in Nizam/Andhra and a reasonable performance in Mumbai and CP Berar but rest are have not done well.

TADAP fell on day eight as it collected 80-85 lakhs nett taking its total to 21.25 crore nett apprx. The film is following the same trajectory as ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH but at a lower level. Still despite the drop, its a fair result for the film compared to what other films are doing as this film does not have any face value. The 30 crore nett mark is probably looking tough for the film but it should finish at 27-28 crore nett.

ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH fell again on the third Friday as it collected 25 lakhs nett taking its total to 36 crore nett. The film is probably looking at a 75-80% fall in week three. The film got a decent first week in especially from where it opened but has not really gone on from the there. The drop in business after the first week is on the higher side. It has done well in pockets but even here, it has not sustained as well as it could have.

TADAP managed to have a healthy first week with collections of 20 crore nett plus. These are not huge collections but considering the film had newcomers with no face value and coming so soon post the pandemic where business for these type of small films is less, then this is a good performance.
TADAP was a film for the youth and that too the youth outside the big metros and this crowd came out especially over the first few days. The hold over the weekdays have also been pretty good. The big test is the second Friday but here all releases outside SOORYAVANSHI have found it very hard since cinemas reopened a few months back.
The best business for the film has come in places like UP and MP and in the former, it has the best collections outside SOORYAVANSHI in most of the centres.

TADAP remained steady on its first Wednesday as it picked up another 1.75-1.85 crore nett to take its six day total to 19 crore nett. Last week, ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH saw a major drop on Wednesday but this has not happened with TADAP this Wednesday as it showed that normal 10-12% drop.
The crucial day will be the second Friday where it has CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI for competition. But that film has a different audience as it is more for the metros and will hardly make a difference to TADAP in UP, CP Berar, Gujarat etc.
The first week should now close at 20.50 crore nett which is decent collections for the film and it remains to be seen how it behaves in week two. A final total of 30 crore nett would be a pretty good result for the film but to get there it must have a decent hold on the second Friday.

TADAP was steady on Tuesday with a minimal drop from Monday as it collected 2 crore nett on Tuesday taking its five day business to 17 crore nett. The film should cross the 20 crore nett mark in week one from here.
There could be drop on Wednesday though as this is what happened with ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH last week which saw good holds on Monday and Tuesday and looked set for a good run. But it dropped on Wednesday and again Friday to bring the film down. It remains to seen if TADAP has a better trajectory than ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH and gets over these hurdles..
The first week will still be decent even if the film drops as a 20 crore nett week is a healthy total for a non cast film.

TADAP saw a fair hold on Monday as it dropped 45% to collect in the 2-2.25 crore nett range. The business of the film held well outside the metros with Gujarat showing the best hold with a drop of 35%. This has taken the business of the film to 15-15.25 crore nett in four days.
These are reasonable collections for a non cast film and the hold on Monday could have been stronger which would have should real appreciation for the film. But still the hold is on the right side of 50% and so the film can run for 2-3 weeks.
The first week business will go to 20 crore nett and there will not be many films with new faces getting to this level. The best business for the film will be from Delhi/UP which has collected almost 3.50 crore nett till date. Mumbai could have done a little better for the film especially cities in Maharashtra but it is the cities in UP that lead.

TADAP collected well again on Saturday with 4 crore nett coming and taking its two day collections to 8 crore nett. The collections remain good for a film with new faces as these types generally struggle to get into the crores
The film managed to show good growth in places like Gujarat and the metros also went up but most places were flat and where the opening was better like UP, Bihar, CP, CI and Rajasthan, the collections went down.
TADAP is doing best in Delhi/UP thanks to the collections in UP state. This is the first time post the pandemic that Uttar Pradesh has outperformed. The likes of UP and Rajasthan should give the film a good boost.
The weekend looks likely to yield pretty good results as long as the Sunday growth comes but appreciation by the public for the film and the new talent in the film depends on what happens post the weekend.

TADAP had a decent first weekend of 13 crore nett considering it had no known faces. The collections are better than BUNTY AUR BABLI 2 and the four day weekend of SATYAMEVA JAYATE 2. The film opened pretty well on Friday as the college going youth crowd came for the film in many cities across India.
The Saturday business was pretty much expected as those opening centres were always likely to go down. The film got healthy growth on Sunday but the mass circuits on Sunday could have been more but this is probably because the family audiences in the Hindi belt would not be so keen on this type of film.
Delhi/UP is the best performing circuit with business of around 3 crore nett thanks to the business in the state of UP. East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore have performed poorly while Mumbai, CP, CI Rajasthan, Nizam/Andhra and Bihar all have pretty decent numbers.
Overall the weekend numbers are fair and it remains to be seen where the film goes from here.

TADAP scored well at the box office on day one with collections in the 4 crore nett range. The film had no face value and so these are good numbers considering what films like SATYTAMEVA JAYATE 2 and ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH did as they had more face value and wider releases. In terms of day one occupancy, then TADAP is second only to SOORYAVANSHI this year.
TADAP is from Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner which also gave HEROPANTI in 2014 and that was the last time a film with a new lead film opened well before TADAP. Since then films with new leads have struggled to get over the 1 crore nett mark with a new face be it with industry kids or outsiders. HEROPANTI had Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon who both went on to become stars.
It remains to be seen what happens with the leads of TADAP but the start is there and now its about the appreciation for them and the film from the public but that will only be known with time. Sunday will be crucial and then its about where the film goes after the weekend. The business of TADAP on day one is generally good in all circuits as the youth crowd as come especially outside the metros.
The best circuit is probably Delhi/UP which will be the second highest opening day of the year after SOORYAVANSHI as it collects a lakh or two more than ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH. The collections in Delhi NCR were decent but in UP it has collected well from places like Agra, Gorakhpur, Barelly etc.
