Spider-Man: No Way Home Review - The Most Complete And Thoroughly Entertaining MCU Film
Box Office India Trade Network

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME had an outstanding first day as it collected around 33 crore nett making it the second biggest Hollywood release of all time after AVENGERS: ENDGAME. This has come as a huge relief to exhibitors after the dull few weeks.

The performance is huge and the multiplex collections all over the country are insane. The film has also beaten the numbers of SOORYAVANSHI in West Bengal; and East Punjab which is phenomenal. All India, it is the third best opening post pandemic after VAKEEL SAAB (Telugu) and MASTER (Tamil) but there will be huge difference post day one between these South films and SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME.

The industry will be rejoicing but there is still some concerns for our Hindi circuits as despite the business being fantastic, it is not like pre pandemic and this is a huge event film. Going by the numbers in South, this film should have have done 42-43 crore nett but performance in Hindi circuits is generally less than AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR while South is just 20% less than AVENGERS: ENDGAME which did 53 crore nett on day one. If generally the film was lower across the country it would not matter much. Maharashtra was affected by the 50% rule especially in Mumbai and Pune but they still collected near SOORYAVANSHI range. The overall Mumbai circuit numbers is looking to come lower than expected due to restrictions.

Basically in pre pandemic times, this film would have done 10 crore nett more and this 10 crore nett would have come from the Hindi circuits. This is a problem for the film industry but nevertheless, SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME will be a huge winner as its a four day weekend and there is still huge scope in Hindi circuits and it will hold well here. The drops are more likely in South.
