A while back, Harshvardhan Rane took to Instagram to share that he deleted his Twitter account to focus more on his “craft and art and career”. The actor, who is currently in the UK to shoot for an upcoming film, says that he will return to the social networking site only after he accomplishes his goals.

“I ran away from my home at the age of 16 to be in the movies. Acting has always been my dream and aim. I feel I have let down a lot of my fans by not getting enough work in Hindi films. And I don’t want to be on Twitter till I do at least 20 good Hindi films,” elaborates the Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) actor, who has several Telugu films to his name.

Why such a specific number — 20 — though? “I feel that with every film, an actor becomes 5% more familiar among their audience. Hence, every film is a stepping stone towards achieving nationwide familiarity. I would like to think that I need to do 20 Hindi films to reach all kinds of audience,” he tells us.

However, Rane also counts his blessings and says that he is happy with the meaty parts that are gradually coming his way. Early this year, the 37-year-old was seen playing a pivotal part in Haseen Dillruba, which won him praise for his performance.

“People tell me that my films may not be blockbusters but they strike an emotional chord with them. I silently feel happy hearing that,” the actor tells us.

Ask him if he thinks the film proved to be a game-changer for him and Rane admits, “I don’t feel I have been lucky enough to call any film a turning point in my career. All I am experiencing is a very gradual mathematical growth. With every film I do, I get just one more offer.”
