CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI collected 4.25 crore nett on Saturday to take its total to 7.50 crore nett apprx over two days. There was some decent growth of 30-35% over the first day was this was not good enough as it needed a minimum of 50% and preferably it should have been over 60% or even higher.
There is an issue with the business in the big city multiplexes as the audiences in these places seems to be much less than before the pandemic. This could be seen in the collections of the likes of ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH and TADAP. But those films were not aimed at this audience and so it was sort of expected that when a film which is more for the premium multiplex audience would come then this audience would come. But it has not turned out that way.
It can be that the film also has not been liked that much by the audience but it does look more than that as despite its better collections in the Delhi NCR, it should be doing far better. This is that the premium multiplex market and CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI is a film which this crowd will come for at least initially but here the film is doing just 20-25% better than a Punjabi film like HONSLA RAKH in Delhi city. Yes there was no competition at the time of HONSLA RAKH but at the end of the day, its a Punjabi film and its not as if the likes of SOORYAVANSHI, ANTIM - THE FINAL TRUTH or TADAP are doing huge business in Delhi city.
Saturday was the key day for CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI as even after the low start, it still had a chance but this decent growth of 30-35% is not really good enough.
The collections of CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI till date are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 7,50,00,000 apprx
