SOORYAVANSHI had an excellent hold on Monday as it collected around 14-14.25 crore nett taking the four day numbers to 91 crore nett. The drop from day one is around 46% which is very good especially if we consider that day one was the biggest holiday of the year. 

The film is extraordinary in Gujarat and Maharashtra despite the 50% occupancy rule is next best. All the circuits which have collections coming from Maharashtra have held very well be it Mumbai, CP Berar or Nizam/Andhra. 

There are drops in Delhi city and East Punjab but that tends to be the case with most Rohit Shetty films. The two places which do better in North for Rohit Shetty are UP and Haryana and the former is still steady while the latter underperformed in the weekend due to 50% occupancy rule.

SOORYAVANSHI should hold well into the next few days but it the lifetime will depend on where Mumbai circuit lands when the holiday period is over in Gujarat/Saurashtra. The film is a HIT and will cross the 150 crore nett mar and the second Friday will tell if it can go to 175 crore nett or even near 200 crore nett.

SOORYAVANSHI is doing phenomenal business in Gujarat/Saurashtra and could emerge the biggest grosser ever in the circuit outside BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. It was always expected to well in Gujarat as its an extended holiday period and the circuit was doing pretty well since reopening of cinemas.

Still the response has beaten the expectations over the first four days. The 5 crore nett opening was on the cards but to sustain at same levels over the weekend was huge and on Monday it was simply historic. Rohit Shetty films have a tendency to be very strong in Gujarat and SOORYAVANSHI is another one.

If we look at the 5 crore nett plus days in Gujarat/Saurashtra then only twice its been a non Rohit Shetty film and that is PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO on day one and HOUSEFULL 4 on day four. All the others have been Rohit Shetty films be it SINGHAM RETURNS, GOLMAAL AGAIN and SOORYAVANSHI. This does not include BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.
