SOORYAVANSHI has recorded fantastic numbers on the first day with collections of 26.50 crore nett. Obviously its not as huge as films that came before the pandemic on this day but there are various issues on the ground level yet which will get better with time.
The film has seen extraordinary collections at places and considering this film is coming after 18 months when there were hardly any films releases and cinemas remained shut for most of this period, this is a huge result. Many cinemas were opening doors after 18 months.
The film is the second highest opening day for Akshay Kumar after MISSION MANGAL and if it was a normal situation, it would have flew past that film. For Rohit Shetty, it is the fourth best opening day after SINGHAM RETURNS, CHENNAI EXPRESS and GOLMAAL AGAIN. The film clocked up around 10 crore nett in Mumbai and 5.50 crore nett in Delhi/UP.
The collections range from extraordinary to good depending on the circuit and basically the audience has returned or at least a good chunk of the audience and now its about where the film goes from here. The holiday period will continue even in the weekdays in some areas which will boost the film further. The weekend no doubt will return very good numbers.
