New Delhi: Amid the tumult over the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son, it now emerges that Rahul Gandhi wrote to the superstar expressing concern over Aryan’s incarceration and comforting the family about the future.

Sources said the Congress leader wrote to Khan and his wife Gauri on October 14 when the country was in the grip of the controversy kicked off by the NCB’s arrest of Aryan in a drugs case.

According to sources, Rahul reportedly wrote to the star couple that it was “very difficult to see a family member going through this.”

He added that “you both have created a lot of goodwill through compassion. Lots of support is pouring in-….Truth cannot be held hostage for long…Patience is needed…Wishing you peace and strength.”

While a lot of political leaders extended support to Khan, including the ruling alliance partners in Maharashtra, it was not known that Rahul struck a personal chord with the family during this difficult phase.
