BUNTY AUR BABLI 2 could not do much at the box office as it collected 2.50-2.75 crore nett on its first day which probably would have been okay if these collections came before the release of SOORYAVANSHI. But now with the box office in good health, these collections are low.

The film benefited due to the Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday in the North and that is where collections are better by far. But even here, they should have been higher and it didn't as the film never really got a push in the evening.

The film is a sequel to BUNTY AUR BABLI which was released way back in 2005 and did very well but the franchise value 16 years later is unlikely to be much and on top its not the type of film that can probably go forward as a franchise. The 2005 film was driven by a mega blockbuster song picturised on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but BUNTY AUR BABLI 2 does not have anything even close.

The first day collections of BUNTY AUR BABLI 2 are also in the same range range as BUNTY AUR BABLI but that was 2005 with 475 screens and here its 2021 and it has released on 1800 screens.

The collections of the film were behind SOORYAVANSHI in all markets except Delhi/UP and East Punjab. West Bengal is yet to come. But generally across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nizam/Andhra and Bihar, there were centres which were doing one third of SOORYAVANSHIfor BUNTY AUR BABLI 2.

The film has around 40% business coming from the North which makes meaningful growth tough for the film as these areas wont grow much. The other areas will have some growth but business is very low there.
