On October 16, mid-day was the first to report that Adarsh Gourav had bagged the lead role in an international project (Bigger goals, bigger size, Oct 16). Yesterday, Bollywood woke up to the delightful news that the actor — who became the international toast after his riveting performance in The White Tiger earlier this year — has earned a place alongside Meryl Streep, Kit Harington and Sienna Miller for Scott Z Burns’s anthology, Extrapolations. The Apple TV+ climate anthology will explore how changes to the planet will impact survival, love and family.

It’s quite a feat to be sharing screen space with Hollywood legend Streep so early on in one’s career. Gourav’s excitement is justified as he gushes, “It feels like a dream to be part of this!” The ebullience is palpable in his voice as he turns into a fanboy, saying, “When I was young, I had loved Kramer vs Kramer [1987] and The Bridges of Madison County [1995]. I have been a massive Meryl Streep fan since then.”

The show is expected to go into production in New York in the coming weeks. Even as he gears up to work with the best in the business, Gourav says the star power can’t distract the actor in him. “I try to emotionally connect with my character and discuss his graph with my director. My process stays the same irrespective of where I am shooting and who I am working alongside.”
