Hum Do Hamare Do rests on a brilliant idea and this could have been another entertaining family film, on the lines of Badhaai Ho. But from the very start, the weak direction and disjointed editing gives an idea that something is not right. Yet, one gives it a chance and once Rajkummar Rao gets his fake family, you expect things to get better. And it does get better and the middle portions are funny and touching. Sadly, the pre-climax and climax fails to impress. Speaking of performances, Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon do well but they get overshadowed by the veteran actors. Paresh Rawal rocks the show while Ratna Pathak Shah is restrained and leaves a huge mark. Mazel Vyas (Kriti Sanon's sister) is quite nice in the pre-climax. Aparshakti Khurana is okay and his character gets a raw deal, especially in the track of his wife. Manu Rishi Chadha and Prachee Shah Paandya are dependable. Sanand Verma (Shadiraam) is over the top but it works. Aditya Taranch (Sanket) is okay in the Anshuman (Jab We Met) type of character. All in all, Hum Do Hamare Do is a clean family entertainer but sadly is also an average fare.

My rating - ** ½ out of 5!
