For a long time, Bollywood has had a preset image of how a leading actress should look on the screen. Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, who have an interesting mix of films in their repertoire, have often battled the prevalent concept of an ideal body image for actresses in Hindi cinema. It turns out that now they will possibly unite for the first time for a film. Mudassar Aziz, known for comedies like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Happy Bhag Jayegi and Dulha Mil Gaya, is in the process of starting the shoot for a film titled Double XL, which will be headlined by Sonakshi and Huma.

The film will be Huma’s first collaboration with rumoured beau Mudassar. We reached out to the makers for a confirmation, but they didn’t comment on the development. However, our sources claim that the movie, expected to be shot in London, will apparently have the leading ladies play overweight girls who fight societal discrimination against women who face body-shaming.

While Sonakshi is currently wrapping up a film with Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem, Huma was seen in the recently released BellBottom. The actresses will go through a closely monitored and detailed process to pile on the kilos for the film and shed them post the film’s shoot. As per sources, the parts that they are expected to look lean in could be shot before adding the kilos.
