There’s been an immense outpouring of grief following Sidharth Shukla’s shocking demise on September 2. While his family and friends are still grappling to come to terms with his death, the actor’s fans, who call themselves ‘Sidhearts’ took to social media in large numbers to remember him.
Sidharth’s final rites were conducted on September 3, during which some of his friends from the industry were present. The 40-year-old actor is survived by his mother Rita Shukla and two sisters Neetu and Preeti.
Yesterday, the family released a statement thanking those who supported the actor and requested that they be allowed to grieve in private. The Shukla family in their note said, “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of Sidharth’s journey and showered him with unconditional love. It definitely doesn’t end here as he now resides in our hearts forever! Sidharth valued his privacy, hence we request you to allow our family the privacy to grieve.”
The statement further read, “A special Thank You to the Mumbai Police force for their sensitivity and compassion. They have been like a shield, protecting and standing by us every minute of the day! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.” The family also organised a prayer meet online yesterday, which his fans could join.
