One has to take care and maintain their fitness and health at any age. People shouldn’t feel that after the age of 60, they should give up on their health and fitness. Darr kyu lagta hai? You’ve to invest in your health right from the beginning, and if you do that, it becomes easier for you when you reach a certain age. If my joints don’t function properly, how will I run if a script demands? If I don’t have stamina, how would I be able to deliver my dialogues? Your age doesn’t matter, if you don’t want to run, then do yoga, do pranayama, walk around, do light weight exercises, but do something. Don’t ever give up on yourself.

I got cancer and I pulled out of it, and it was because of my health and positive attitude. I couldn’t even lift a five pound dumbbell after my cancer treatment. I started with books, and now I’m lifting 40kg. This is proof that it’s all in the mind. Since I already had a fit body, it helped me in recovery as well. I’ve been particular about my health right from my school days, and I’m still working out with the same interest and same keenness. So, age has nothing to do with it, it’s all in the mind. If your mind is set at looking after your health, nothing can stop you. Health bhagwaan ki sabse badi den hai. That’s in your hands, nothing else is.

Hum Hindustaniyon ki thinking hai ki exercise karna is for young people. But, what we don’t understand is when you start ageing, the degeneration of the bones begin. We need to strengthen the muscle around the bones, so your body can function for a prolonged period. And the only way for that to happen is through workouts and weight training. People give up workout after the age of 30 or 40, but after 60, exercise is compulsory. I think this is all in the mind, agar aap sochoge ki aap buddhe ho, toh aap buddhe ho jaoge. And then that’ll be the end of it.
