Today, their image on social media has become as important for actors as their on-screen performances. It allows them to interact directly with the audience and has become a yardstick to gauge their popularity. But, it also exposes them to a lot of negativity, comparisons and judgments.

The situation gets even more distasteful when family members, especially children, are targeted. Recently, we asked Jackie Shroff about how he deals with social media outrage, especially when his children — Tiger and Krishna — are at the receiving end. The actor said that he seldom loses his cool.

He further added, “I take it the way my kids take it. Unki jo feelings hain unko dekhta hoon main bas, aur woh achhi tarah se unn cheezon ko sambhaalte hain. I have always seen Tiger being very respectful, and that’s how it should be. Social media ka zamaana hai and everybody has an opinion. Some people feel happy hurting and pulling down someone, while others use it for constructive criticism, appreciation and spreading positivity. It also reflects on the person... aap kaise hain, aap kisko dard pahunchana chahte hain, kisko giraana chaahte hain ya kisiki tareef karna chahte hain… we can’t stop anyone.”
