The property cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch had reportedly summoned actress-model Gehana Vasisth and two other people for questioning in connection with the ongoing Raj Kundra pornography case on Sunday. Gehana, who was arrested in February this year in connection with a porn film racket, and two others were supposed to appear before the Crime Branch before 12 noon on July 25. However, the model-actress, who was released on bail last month, was not present at the Crime Branch. Talking about it, she told BT on Sunday, “I did not go to the Crime Branch today, and I had informed the officers about it. I will go there on Tuesday (July 27). I did not get an official summon for it, though I did get a message on my phone on Saturday.”

Gehana also informed us that she was not in Mumbai over the weekend, and she needed two days to return as she was travelling back by road. She had said, “I have not been vaccinated yet, so I needed the RT-PCR test report to get back to Mumbai. My accounts are seized, and I don’t have the money to travel any other way. I am not running away from the police. In fact, I was waiting to be called in for questioning. The reason I kept talking to the press is that there is a lot that I know and I want to share that with the police. I want to cooperate with them and bring to their notice anything that has been missed out. I have a lot to reveal.”

Yesterday morning, however, her publicist Flynn Remedios issued a statement saying Gehana fell seriously ill on Sunday night. The statement said, “She is on IV and insulin drip as her sugar levels crossed 600 yesterday. She is currently out of Mumbai and maybe be hospitalised today.” It also mentioned that her family has requested media to avoid calling or messaging her as it adds to her stress, causing her sugar level to increase.

According to Remedios, she was being repeatedly asked if she anticipated arrest once again. As per the statement, “The thought of being arrested again caused her sugar levels to shoot up on Sunday, Dr Pranav Kabra, cardiac specialist and diabetologist said.”

The statement further read, “Gehana suffers from the dreaded diabetic ketoacidosis, which is triggered by stress and intense anxiety and can result in a brain stroke. In the last two years, Gehana Vasisth has suffered stroke four times resulting in hospitalisation several times.”
