Sumeet Vyas, who was already known for his work in the digital space, featured in Veere Di Wedding, where he played Kareena Kapoor Khan’s beau. Though the buddy film focussed on the life of four buddies — played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam K Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, Sumeet got his share of appreciation too.

Recently, on the film’s third anniversary, Rhea Kapoor, producer of the film, had shared a post to celebrate the occasion, to which Kareena responded, saying, “The best decision I took… such a cool film.”

Looking back at the experience of working on the project closely with Kareena, Sumeet says, “She was extremely sweet and very professional. She was so prepared every time she came on set… she knew her lines, her moves. It is refreshing to see that she has done so much, achieved so much in her career, and yet, she is so sincere about her work. That explains why she has reached where she has.”

Ask Sumeet if he is still in touch with her, and he answers, “I am not in touch with her. We were not pals when we were shooting. She is a massive star, and when we worked together, I was an actor who was getting a lot of attention (because of the casting). But yes, I did find great friends in Swara and Shikha.”

Talking about the changes in his professional life after the release of the film, Sumeet says, “A lot changed for me after the movie released, because suddenly you are a part of such a big mainstream film and working with mainstream actors. It results in people taking you a lot more seriously. You are able to attract a larger audience, and that changes it all.” Post the film, Sumeet was seen in Made In China starring Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy and a number of web shows.

There has been buzz about the film’s sequel, and on the film’s third anniversary, fans asked the makers and the actors about its possibility. “I haven’t received any communication from the team about the sequel,” he says, adding, “I have read it in the news, and it has got me excited too. Veere Di Wedding film was special, and I never felt that the film was just based on the heroines. It was a great set to be on, where people came in with a lot of good energy.”
