Among the celebrities that have come ahead and are doing their bit during the ongoing pandemic is Jacqueline Fernandez. The actress recently launched the YOLO foundation, which has joined hands with several NGOs and participated in helping in whatever way possible. Jacqueline also made a significant contribution to the Pune Police Foundation. And they in turn took to social media to thank her. They tweeted: “Pune Police thanks @Asli_Jacqueline for her generous contribution towards the Pune Police Foundation. Your kind gesture will go a long way for our team that continues to perform their duties on the frontline in this pandemic (sic).” Jacqueline tweeted back: “I salute @PuneCityPolice who have been tirelessly working on the frontline and contributing selflessly in our fight with Covid 19. We are in this together (sic).”

The objective behind launching the foundation was to “create and share stories of kindness”. She elaborated in a post online: “We have this one life, let’s do whatever we can to make a difference in this world!!” The initiatives she has undertaken since are to provide one lakh meals in the month of May, distribute masks and sanitisers to the frontline workers who work relentlessly, help stray animals by improving their conditions, distribute 500 oxygen concentrators and also start providing free ambulance services across Mumbai. They are also preparing to set up a 100-bed Coronavirus Centre in Mumbai and other cities.

Summing up all her efforts towards reaching out to people in these times, Jacqueline shares, “There is no such thing as a small act of kindness, each act adds up to something much greater!”
