VAKEEL SAAB has taken a huge start as it posted the highest opening post the pandemic with all India collections set to cross the 35 crore nett of MASTER. The collections of the film are looking to be in the 38-39 crore nett region and maybe even a little higher.

The film has collected around 35 crore nett in Andhra Pradesh which is in a similar range to films like SYE RAA NARASIMHA REDDY and SAAHO which are second and third best openers after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION but both these films were released in a normal situation. It is a phenomenal start for the film with VAKEEL SAAB matching the all India collections of MASTER in Andhra alone. It is among the top five openers ever in Andhra Pradesh and may even be among the top three.

VAKEEL SAAB is a one language film and so after Andhra Pradesh there is a limited contribution coming from elsewhere and it will be Karnataka state that can take it towards the 40 crore nett mark. The Hindi markets saw a negligible collections as Mumbai city and Maharashtra is shut and more than 50% of the collections of South films (not dubbed) come from here.

The film is said to have mixed reports in Andhra Pradesh and it remains to be seen how it goes but business of 100 crore nett plus in Andhra Pradesh will see the film in the safe zone.

VAKEEL SAAB collected very well on day two with collections of 16-17 crore nett. This takes the film to 54 crore nett in two days which is an excellent total. The two day apprx figures in Nizam/Andhra will be around the 48 crore nett mark with 34 crore nett on day one and 14 crore nett on day two.

The drop is a regular occurrence in Telugu films and its par for the course.  The two day numbers are competing with some of the biggest Telugu films outside BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION despite releasing in the pandemic. The collections on Sunday should also be in the same range as Saturday which should mean a weekend of around 70 crore nett for the film.

VAKEEL SAAB collected 70 crore nett apprx in its first weekend which is the highest weekend post the pandemic in India going past the 69 crore nett of MASTER in January. That film had its first three days over the Wed-Fri period which was a holiday period. 

The results are very good in its home market of Nizam/Andhra but outside it has not performed too well. The film is only in one language so not much can be expected and it is mainly Bangalore which has contributed to collections outside Nizam/Andhra. The rest of Karnataka was below the mark. MASTER was released in three languages and had a far bigger ratio of business coming outside its home market of Tamil Nadu.

The trend is pretty much normal for a Telugu film and its Monday which will decide where the film will go. There are ticket pricing issues in Nizam/Andhra but the hope will be it can sustain and cruise past the 100 crore nett mark. The film also did well in USA with collections of $700k plus which is also the higehst weekend till date post the pandemic.
