Akshay Kumar shared a health update on social media yesterday stating he has been admitted to a city hospital as a precautionary measure, a day after testing positive for COVID-19. Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal, too, have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Bhumi took to social media, and wrote, “I have tested positive for COVID-19. As of today, I have mild symptoms, but am feeling ok and have isolated myself. I am following the protocol given by my doctor and health professionals. If you have been in contact with me, request you to please get tested immediately (sic).” Urging others to be cautious amid, she further said, “Please don’t take the current situation lightly, even though I followed utmost precaution and care I’ve contracted it. Wear a mask, keep washing your hands, maintain social distancing and be mindful of your general behaviour (sic).”

Vicky, who is quarantining at home, in his post, said, “Inspite of all care and precautions, unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all essential protocols, I am under home quarantine, taking medication as prescribed by my doctor. I request all those who came in contact with me to immediately get tested (sic).”

Akshay thanked people for their prayers, and said, “Thank you everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working. I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon (sic).”

Apart from Akshay, 45 crew members working on his film Ram Setu have tested positive for COVID-19. Birendra Nath Tiwari, President, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), said a crew of nearly 100 was set to begin filming in Madh Island from April 5, but when the mandatory COVID-19 tests were done, 40 junior artistes tested positive. “They all have been quarantined after testing positive. Out of those, 40 were junior artistes while the rest were from Akshay’s make-up team, their assistants. Now the shooting has been halted indefinitely,” Tiwari told PTI.
