Since her Bollywood debut in 2008, with the horror film 1920, actor Adah Sharma has been steady with her work in the Hindi and South film industries. Even though 2020 was a lull period for most actors, as things are slowly getting back to normal, Sharma, too, is getting back to work.

“I shot two Telugu films during the pandemic. One was in a jungle and the movie didn’t have many people in the cast so it was pretty much just me and therefore, it was easier to shoot. I also shot for three short films and a few endorsements during the pandemic but they were all with a smaller crew and lesser people on set,” says Sharma, adding that the Coronavirus pandemic has made people more hygienic and grateful for what they have.

Sharma, who was last seen on the big screen in Commando 3 (2019), says that because theatres were shut in 2020, actors got the chance to enter people’s homes and their mobile screens. Ask her if a medium matters to her, and she says, “I’m open to doing any content as an artiste. The release plans are not entirely in my hands. I am doing some stuff on the web, while also doing feature films and short films. So, I am open to doing everything.”

The Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) actor is grateful for her journey so far in the film industry. “The audience and the media have been very kind to me since my debut. I was not a star kid, or a known model but people wrote such amazing things about me and the audience accepted me with open arms. I think, if a performance is impactful, it can leave an impression for 100 years,” she signs off.
