Bollywood has witnessed a baby boom during the pandemic. While Anushka Sharma is now mom to a baby girl, Vamika, Kareena Kapoor Khan is awaiting the arrival of her second child. Bombay Times has exclusively learnt that singer Harshdeep Kaur, too, is all set to welcome her first child with husband Mankeet Singh.

The singer, known for songs like Dilbaro (Raazi), Zaalima (Raees), Heer (Jab Tak Hai Jaan) and Katiya Karun (Rockstar), shares, “Yes, I am in my final trimester and just a month away from my delivery. My husband Mankeet and I are very private people. Last year, due to the entire COVID-19 crisis, there was very limited scope and opportunity to socialise. So, we ended up being quite guarded about the pregnancy because of the circumstances. We have no reason to be secretive about news like this. We just didn’t make an official announcement. But, I’m happy to confirm that yes, there’s a baby on the way and we couldn’t be happier!”

Harshdeep’s husband, Mankeet, shared that the pandemic triggered the family planning. He says, “We have been married for five years. When Coronavirus and the lockdown struck last year, it presented us with the time to plan our family.”

He further adds, “Despite all the challenges that the world was and is still encountering, this was our silver lining. I am particularly happy that she got to rest and stay at home all through her pregnancy, given our hectic travel schedules through the year. We haven’t shared this amazing news publicly, which is why this might come as a surprise to many.”
