Pathan may be eyeing a 2022 release, but work on the spy thriller is moving at a brisk pace. Shah Rukh Khan resumed work on the Siddharth Anand-directed venture earlier this week. The superstar shot for an action sequence at Film City in Goregaon, where the makers had built a set replicating an African underground arms market.

With Khan playing a RAW agent, the sequence forms a crucial part of his mission. A source reveals, “In the scene, Shah Rukh’s character goes undercover to visit the arms market, and a fight breaks out among the cartels. The set-piece was choreographed by international stunt artistes. The unit shot till the wee hours of morning.”

Salman Khan reported to the Pathan set yesterday to film his cameo. “The duo shot some portions at YRF Studios. Now, the stage is being set for their high-octane action sequences, which will be the film’s highlight.”
