Actor Gautam Gulati, who is currently in London, has tested positive for Coronavirus. He shared the news on Instagram a couple of days ago. Talking about it, he says, “I am an early riser, as I like to start my day with a workout. However, recently, I woke up with a body ache and felt weak. It didn’t subside even after four days. When I lost my sense of taste, I knew it was COVID. I underwent a rapid test, which came positive.”

Since then he is in quarantine and is steadily recovering. “I am quite organised and taking all necessary precautions. I keep spraying sanitiser on everything before and after use. I inhale steam regularly and gargle with salt and turmeric in warm water. I eat right and healthy. I am also taking multivitamins and other supplements,” the actor shares.

Gautam left for London on December 16 and was scheduled to return around mid-January. So, has Coronavirus derailed his schedule? “My work has suffered, but I am holding meetings virtually. So, I am on schedule,” he says.

The UK has been in the news for a new Coronavirus strain. Away from home, the actor admits that while he is stressed, he is trying to put up a brave front.

“My mother and brother are obviously worried for me. So, while I am a bit stressed, I try to divert my attention towards more productive things,” he says, adding, “I miss my mother and the fact that I could have eaten homemade food. Chaahe khichdi mil jaati unke haathon ki.”

Following the fear of the new COVID-19 variant, India has banned flights from the UK. So, when does he plan to return home? “The flights are resuming from January 8. Even if there isn’t a direct flight to India, I will fly back home via a connecting flight,” he replies.
