Going on paternity leave is fast becoming a norm; take a cue from our celebrity fathers-to-be like Virat Kohli and Saif Ali Khan. The Indian skipper opted out of a crucial series to be by his wife, actress Anushka Sharma’s side throughout the last leg of the couple’s first pregnancy and the initial post-delivery phase. Actor-producer Saif Ali Khan has also planned his film schedules in such a way that he gets to spend plenty of time with wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and their second-born. Although Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior director, Om Raut’s Adipurush, goes on floors this month, Saif, who plays Raavan, will only join the cast of the film in the last week of March this year.

Confirming the news, filmmaker Om Raut told BT, “Saif sir and Prabhas have been prepping for the film extensively for the last three-four months. At this moment, my team is excited for the shoot to commence. They are preparing the final schedule. From where I see it, Saif sir is on paternity leave and will join the shoot sometime in March this year. It’s a deep, extensive story. We plan to shoot all the way up to August.”

Throughout her pregnancy last year, Kareena wrapped up the shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha, shot for her radio show and some ads. Saif and Kareena, along with son Taimur, celebrated Diwali in Dharamshala where the actor was shooting for Bhoot Police and brought in the new year at their Mumbai home.
