Mumbai: Maharashtra government plans to boost Bollywood tourism by allowing bus tours where tourists can witness live shootings of films and TV serials and interact with actors. The state tourism department signed an MoU with Starcraft Entertainment Prime Ltd on Tuesday. It also signed an MoU for Mumbai Festival to be held between January 25-February 15.
“Maharashtra and Mumbai are epicentres of film-making. To attract cinema and film-making tourism, we are launching the Mumbai Film City tour bus and curating tours for people to witness live shootings,” said state tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray.
The tour will include a visit to the site where a film or TV serial is being shot, a visit to Films Division at Pedder Road and to see bungalows of celebrities in Bandra, Juhu and Andheri. This will be similar to the Hollywood tour of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, officials said.
