Hyderabad: Two days after he was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad for treatment of high blood pressure, superstar Rajinikanth was discharged on Sunday following improvement in his medical condition. The doctors have advised him “complete bed rest” for the next one week and to strictly “avoid activities that increase the risk of contracting Coronavirus”.

This has raised doubts about his intent to launch his political party on New Year’s eve.

Apart from complete rest for a week, the medical bulletin from the hospital said he has been advised “minimal physical activity and to avoid stress”. The advice has been given in addition to medication and diet in view of his post-renal transplant status, labile hypertension and age. The actor turned 70 a few weeks ago.

Rajini was admitted on December 25 with severe hypertension and exhaustion.
