Milind Soman, in his 50s, who is still one of the hottest celebs around, woke up the internet yesterday with a photo that no one expected. He celebrated his 55th birthday yesterday with a nude run. The model, actor and fitness enthusiast shared a picture of him running in the buff on Twitter, clicked by wife Ankita Konwar. He shared the photo with the caption, “Happy birthday to me...55 and running! Camera @5Earthy (sic).” As soon as it surfaced, the post went viral, drawing scores of reactions, some comparing it to his controversial ad shoot with model Madhu Spare decades ago.

Ankita, who clicked the photo, spoke to Bombay Times about what made him do this. “Milind did an impromptu run; it’s always impromptu,” she said. Talking about how Milind was being himself, she said, “I think the run just sends out a very positive message on body positivity and being free and happy with who you are. I adore him for always being so at peace with who he is. I think anyone who accepts themselves for who they are has this incredible light and energy around them, and people start liking their presence. Milind’s always been like that. Always himself.”

Known to be a fitness enthusiast, he probably thought this was the best way to mark his birthday. Ankita shares, “Milind and I love running, but staying active is important. It doesn’t necessarily have to be running. It’s about taking out a few minutes for yourself and spending those minutes towards building better health, mentally, physically and emotionally.” The two are on a getaway to celebrate his birthday, and they also did a 12-km run together.

Ankita also shared photos of them relaxing together on the beach after the run, and wrote, “Happy Birthday to the man who has my heart and soul. I love you with every molecule of my existence. I celebrate you every single day. Turned tomato red after a 12k beach run (sic).”
