TENET scored a good opening in South Korea with a five day weekend of almost $4.4 million and with previews from last week, the total goes over $5 million. The collections are around 40% of the local HIT film DELIVER US FROM EVIL which grossed over $10 million in its first weekend. That film was released in early August and South Korea has seen some Coronavirus hotspots since then leading to more lockdowns.
The main thing is that South Korea has seen people return to the theatres like China. Now the wait is for the crucial TENET numbers from Europe and hopefully people will return to the theatres there also though lockdowns in some places of countries like UK and Spain will hit the box office.
The collections of TENET in South Korea are as follows.
Wednesday - $829,223
Thursday - $638,281
Friday - $752,196
Saturday - $1,190,699
Sunday - $949,233
TOTAL - $4,359,632
There were previews of $719,805 last weekend which takes the total in South Korea to over $5m at $5,079,437.
