Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut will meet Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. “The governor has given her an appointment for 4.30 pm,” an official said.

After the BMC demolished parts of her Bandra bungalow on Thursday, the governor had expressed his displeasure over the hurry shown by the Shiv Sena-ruled BMC in carrying out the demolition. TOI had reported on Friday that Koshyari had summoned CM Uddhav Thackeray’s principal advisor Ajoy Mehta to discuss the situation arising out of Ranaut’s statements and the demolition. Ranaut, like Koshyari, is from HP.

Kangana Ranaut is set to meet governor B S Koshyari on Sunday. Kangana had taken on CM Uddhav Thackeray and contended that there was nothing illegal about her Pali Hill bungalow, while the BMC claimed that most of the structure was in violation of civic rules.

Trouble started for Ranaut after she criticized the Mumbai police and likened Mumbai to PoK, following which Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and state home minister Anil Deshmukh came down heavily on her, saying that if Mumbai was not safe, she should leave. Deshmukh had said that she had “no right to live here”. While NCP chief Sharad Pawar has sincesaid the action was taken by BMC and not the state government, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis has come out in support of the actor except her comment on PoK
