No evidence of abetment found against Rhea Chakraborty, says Mumbai Police

Mumbai: A day before Supreme Court decides on the next course of action in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the city police iterated they have not found evidence to book his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for abetment.
Police commissioner Param Bir Singh said, “The confidential report with all circumstantial probe details and evidence will be submitted in a sealed envelope for perusal of the Supreme Court. The state government will also submit an affidavit sought by the SC along with their view in the case.”
“The autopsy reports submitted by a team of five doctors attached to Cooper Hospital on June 22 confirming Sushant died due to hanging will be submitted to the SC. We questioned Rhea Chakraborty and a few others more than twice but did not find anything suspicious,” a police officer said.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his Bandra flat on June 14.
According to the autopsy report, no struggle marks or external injuries were found on the actor’s body. The cause of death is mentioned as asphyxia due to hanging. His nails were found clean too. “The FSL report—viscera and chemical analysis—did not find poisoning in the body or any chemical substance or drugs. The CA report showed Sushant had consumed Red Bull, pomegranate and orange juice but there was no poisonous substance in it,” the police officer said.
The statements of 56 people, including five doctors who had treated the actor and confirmed he was on medication for depression, will also be part of the report. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report of his gadgets - laptop and mobile - that contains the searches on “painless death” and his former manager Disha Salian’s suicide with a mention of his name, and call records will also be submitted, sources said.
