Actress Swara Bhasker, who is quite active on social media and enjoys immense popularity on it, has found an interesting way to use the platform for Coronavirus relief work. According to reports, she took to Twitter to gather information on migrants who are stuck in Delhi and needed to travel back to their hometowns.

Working alongside Dilip Pandey, Chief Whip and MLA in the Delhi State Assembly, Swara has been able to reach out to and help more than 1,350 migrant labourers and their families. She also collaborated with two shoe brands, which donated 3,500 pairs of footwear to the migrants.

The actress says, “I was talking to on-ground volunteers to see what kind of help I could offer and they said, ‘Ma’am, chappal dilwa do’. I then contacted a popular Indian sneaker brand and requested Salman sir (Salman Khan), who put in a word for our cause to a reputed slipper brand that he endorses. We, along with the diligent and committed volunteers of Karwan-E-Mohabbat and Pushti Foundation, have since distributed more than 3,000 pairs of shoes to the migrants who are returning home. The most uplifting aspect of this work is that it has shown me that Indians want to help each other. Humanity is alive in our society.”
