While Coronavirus has brought the film and TV industry to a standstill, Zee TV is coming up with a first-of-its kind virtual singing reality show titled Ghar Ghar Singer. The audience will see the contestants give video auditions from the comfort of their homes and will be judged by the Kakkar siblings, Neha, Sonu and Tony, from theirs.
“Since we are entertainers, it’s our responsibility to entertain and spread happiness. Like liquor, entertainment also helps you forget all the bad things happening around, but without the intoxicating influence,” reasons Neha, adding it will give people something new to look forward to when they are only watching reruns.
The siblings are apparently the first sibling-trio to judge a show. “We have done everything together since childhood, then, we got busy in our careers. This is a reunion for us too,” exults the singer with the promise that they will perform too.
With considerable experience as a judge on other shows, what tips will she give her siblings? “They have judged me my whole life since I am the youngest child. What would I teach them?” Neha laughs, pointing out that Sonu has previously judged a singing show in Punjabi and Tony was to start one but it got pushed due to the lockdown. “Tony bhai is a composer and singers like Arijit Singh record for him. He will make an amazing judge.”
Ghar Ghar Singer is expected to air towards the month-end and will be telecast for 21 days. There is no age-limit for participants. “Who knows, the next singing sensation might be a senior citizen,” Neha concludes.
