Fitness enthusiast Milind Soman has trained himself to never crave for a cheat day. However, the actor-model, 54, says that staying fit during the Coronavirus pandemic is challenging and required adjustments to his regular routine. He says, “I prefer exercising in open spaces. However, I have taken up stair-climbing to substitute for running. I keep myself occupied by learning something new, such as cooking, or imagining positive post-lockdown scenarios.”

His wife and mother also join him in exercising indoor. “We work out on the terrace and do basic movements such as push-ups, skipping, hopping, etc. Engaging in positive activities with family is also good for your mental health,” he says. It’s tempting to binge-eat when stuck at home, but Soman has a way out. He suggests substituting unwholesome foods with healthy snacking options such as fruits or nuts. “My go-to snack is almonds,” he adds. When asked about the first thing he will do once the lockdown ends, he says, “I’d love to go for a very long run as running gives me the utmost satisfaction.”
