After Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kartik Aaryan, Bhushan Kumar, and Ekta Kapoor, among others, Sajid Nadiadwala has stepped up to help fight the Coronavirus outbreak. Besides pledging donations to PM-CARES, the Chief Minister Relief Fund – COVID 19, Motion Pictures & TV Producers Welfare Trust, Shree Bhairav Seva Samiti and Film Industry Welfare Trust, the filmmaker is giving Rs 10,000 and bonus to all the daily wage workers associated with his production house. Additionally, he has announced bonuses for over 400 employees, empowering every individual from the organisation to contribute towards the well-being of the society.
“It gives me immense pride to inform that each and every employee of NGE (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment), working at various levels, has pledged to donate to the PM-CARES Fund and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,” Sajid said in a statement.
The filmmaker, who had five films —’83, RX 100 remake, Bachchan Pandey, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and Heropanti 2 — under various stages of production, halted operations on March 14 amid growing concerns around the outbreak. The theatrical run of his just-released action-entertainer, the Tiger Shroff-fronted Baaghi 3, was cut short when cinema halls started to shut down on March 13, thereby impacting the box-office collections of the Ahmed Khan directorial, which also featured Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and Ankita Lokhande.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has made a contribution to the PM-CARES Fund and the Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund and is providing monetary help to the entire crew, including freelancers and daily wage workers, of his next film, Laal Singh Chaddha.
