Sonakshi Sinha recently took to Instagram to say that she’ll be doing a social media detox during the Coronavirus lockdown period. Ask her about it and she says that she wanted to take a break and battle the panic that’s stemming from the false information which is floating around on the web. She elaborates, “Things have suddenly changed so much and I felt like I shouldn’t be spending so much time on my phone. A lot of stuff that’s posted online and reposted by people are fake. Now is the time to keep your mental sanity intact. I wanted to take a break from all of that and do things that keep me sane, grounded and normal at a time like this.”

She says that she would rather spend her time doing something productive that helps her grow. “Our fast-paced life has come to a standstill. You can’t be your chirpy self at this time. There are days when you might feel low,” Sinha states, adding, “I just want to do things that make me happy such as read and catch up on the movies that I’ve missed. There are better things in life than to be on my phone. I play a lot of games on my phone. It’s always in my hand and that’s something that I want to change consciously.”

A while ago, Sonam Kapoor was trolled on twitter for not making a donation to the PM-CARES fund. The Dabangg (2010) actor remains unfazed by trolls and says that everyone has their way of contributing to the crisis. “If someone wants their contributions to be known and that inspires five more people to also make a donation, that’s a great idea. My way of doing it is by not telling everyone. Social media is place where everyone has an opinion for everything and that’s also a reason why I don’t like it anymore. Even if I tweet a full stop, people will have an opinion on it. I believe in doing my bit and moving on,” she signs off.
