As soon as speculations turned into trending news stating Tahira Kashyap’s mother had portrayed a character named Trijata in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, which is being rerun on Doordarshan, Tahira took to Twitter to clarify them. She tweeted: “There’s no truth to these reports of my mother, Mrs Anita Kashyap starring in the Ramayan show. All these reports are false. She was an educationist and has no connection with this show, whatsoever (sic).”

Tahira says, “My father retired as a journalist and my mother retired as the vice principal of a school where she used to teach English.”

Tahira is making the most of her quarantine time by baking, painting and narrating lockdown tales on Instagram.

Her husband Ayushmann Khurrana, has also been sharing his poetry on Insta. So, have the two always been this creative or is the Coronavirus lockdown a propeller? “We bonded over creativity in college, so you cannot take that away from us,” says Tahira recalling, “We started out as competitors in theatre . That is what binds us and seeks our interest in each other’s work. This lockdown is accentuating all those skills.”
